Old Tower of the Plaka
Location: between the village of Tripodes (Vivlos) and the Plaka coast.
Description: ancient Greek tower, probably from the Mycenaean Period. According to the legend told by the locals, two Thracian potentates killed each other over the love of the Naxian Princess, Pagratida, who thereafter settled in at the tower, converting the building into an oracle. After many years, some shepherds found her three-legged stool near the tower in solid condition and took it to the village. From then on, the village was known as Tripodes (three- legged).
