The Della Rocca-Barozzi Tower is located inside the remarkable and impressive area of the Kastro in Hora of Naxos. The tower houses the Venetian Museum of Naxos. This is a well preserved tower belonging to the Karavias Family. The owners give particular importance in preserving the old atmosphere and glamour of the building unaltered by the passing of time.

Presently the tower has been transformed into a – unique in kind – folkloric museum, as it includes in its premises furniture and objects of past centuries which used to be part of the household utilities.

Through out the year – but especially during the summer season – the museum houses important cultural activities, such as classical music concerts, local and traditional violin concerts, art exhibitions or folkloric events, inside a very special area at the tower’s cellar, and also at the yard on the side of the tower, with spectacular view, overlooking the harbour and the open western sea.

Cultural activities that take place in the Della Rocca-Barozzi tower:

- The "Sunset concert" consists of traditional music, local songs and dances from Naxos. The dancers are dressed in the traditional local apparel. During and after the main event there is tutoring on local dancing and at the same time one has the chance to enjoy the tasting of local drinks, such as wine, citrus liqueur and locally distilled rum.

- Violin and Piano Concert, Piano Recital with a repertoire of classical and contemporary Greek composers, as well as classic guitar recitals, again with a repertoire of classical and contemporary Greek composers.

- In parallel, there is organizing of special evenings which include quality Greek and Ethnic repertoire, Jazz music, Baroque, Choirs, Greek Shadow Theater (Karaghiozis), Theatrical events, as well as a multitude of other activities and events, with the participation of Greek and foreign artists.

Also, within the museum’s premises it is possible to arrange lectures, conferences, book presentations and other related artistic activities. Within the exhibition halls of the tower there are held, through out the year, painting exhibitions, ceramic, photography, jewelry and book exhibitions and many other cultural activities.

It is definitely worthwhile to pay a visit to the museum and enjoy a unique combination of history, cultural and artistic creativity, within an enchanting environment.
